Project Information
The Mono-Chic Duplex: A Study in Geometric Harmony
This contemporary residential project redefines the modern duplex through a sophisticated play of volumes and voids. Designed with a minimalist aesthetic, the architecture utilizes a distinct "split-gable" roofline that creates a powerful symmetrical silhouette while ensuring private, sheltered outdoor spaces for each unit.
Architectural Concept & Exterior
The exterior is characterized by a refined two-tone palette. The upper volume, finished in a soft sage-green earth tone, appears to float over a solid white base. This cantilevered effect is emphasized by deep-set recessed balconies that provide residents with private vistas while maintaining a sleek, monolithic profile.
Key exterior features include:
-
Symmetrical Geometry: The mirrored design provides a sense of balance and order, ideal for high-end urban or suburban living.
-
Integrated Transitions: A continuous concrete pathway wraps around the structure, connecting the landscaped garden and the pergola-covered side terraces.
-
Natural Integration: Large-format glazing on both floors blurs the line between the interior and the lush surrounding greenery, flooding the home with natural light.
Interior Design & Spatial Flow
Inside, the design shifts toward warm minimalism. The open-plan ground floor is optimized for social interaction and spatial efficiency.
-
The Living Zone: A sun-drenched living area features a sophisticated media wall with vertical slat detailing and an integrated fireplace, creating a focal point that is both functional and artistic.
-
The Culinary Hub: The kitchen adopts a sleek L-shaped configuration with slate-grey cabinetry and marble-textured backsplashes, transitioning seamlessly into a generous dining area.
-
Material Palette: The use of light oak flooring throughout provides a warm foundation, contrasting beautifully with the cool grey and white surfaces. A glass-railed staircase with integrated indoor greenery brings a touch of nature into the heart of the home.
Living Experience
Designed for the modern family, this project prioritizes privacy and light. Every room is a vantage point, and every material has been selected to create a serene, clutter-free environment. This is more than a house; it is a curated sanctuary that celebrates clean lines and thoughtful living.
